Preparation

  • Combine the ground chicken and egg in a large mixing bowl and mix until just combined.
  • Add the plain bread crumbs and ranch seasoning mix, blending gently into the chicken mixture.
  • Incorporate the smashed garlic, diced onion, and cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  • Shape the mixture into uniform patties and place them on a plate or baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Heat 2–3 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Carefully add the patties to the heated pan, ensuring space between them.
  • Cook until golden brown on one side, then flip and cook until the patties are cooked through and crispy.

Notes

For extra crispiness, chill the shaped patties for about 30 minutes before cooking. Don't overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
