  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional) Adds acidity that can enhance flavors.

Preparation

  • Trim excess fat from chicken thighs and cut into smaller pieces if necessary. Place the chicken directly in the slow cooker.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine honey and soy sauce, then stir in minced garlic.
  • If using, whisk in apple cider vinegar and pour the mixture over the chicken, ensuring it's well coated.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, then cover the crockpot.

Cooking

  • Cook on low for about 4-6 hours or until the chicken is tender and forks apart easily.
  • Check occasionally to ensure even cooking and that the sauce does not stick.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken warm, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, remove the lid during the last hour of cooking. Adjust honey and soy sauce to your taste. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to three months.
