  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch (optional) For a crispy texture

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium chicken stock
  • 1-2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional, Sriracha recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Preparation

  • Cut the boneless, skinless chicken breast into 1-inch cubes, and if desired, toss in cornstarch before seasoning with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil and unsalted butter. Once melted, add the seasoned chicken.
  • Cook until golden brown and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  • Reduce heat to low and add minced garlic. Stir for about a minute to soften the garlic, taking care not to burn it.
  • Pour in honey and chicken stock, mixing well. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Add lemon juice and hot sauce (if using) and let simmer for a minute to meld the flavors.
  • Remove from heat and serve garnished with red chili pepper flakes and parsley.

Notes

For extra crispiness, let the chicken rest after cooking before adding the sauce. Adjust spicy elements to preference.
