  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1.25 cups barbecue sauce
  • 0.5 cups Italian dressing
  • 2 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Onion powder, to taste
  • Garlic powder, to taste

Preparation

  • Spray the inside of the crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Season chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Place them in the crockpot.
  • In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crockpot, ensuring all pieces are coated.
  • Cover and set to cook on high for 2.5 to 3 hours or low for 5 to 6 hours until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
  • Shred the chicken right in the crockpot using two forks or tongs.
  • Serve the shredded chicken in sandwiches, on pizza, in salads, or in tacos.

Notes

For variations, add Italian seasoning for an herb twist or adjust light brown sugar for sweetness. Leftovers can be stored for several days or used in salads/wraps.
